Jorge Gamboa
Degree in Archaeology and Master in Cultural Heritage Management from the National University of Trujillo. RENACYT researcher at CONCYTEC and professor at the Professional School of Archaeology at UNASAM (Ancash, Peru) since 2012.
He has publications in indexed journals in Argentina, Chile, USA and Peru. He has studied the pre-Hispanic occupations of Chavín de Huántar, the Moche site of Pañamarca in Nepeña and the Rímac valley, the pre-colonial history of the lower Santa valley and the archaeology of the Ancash highlands. He is the author of "Archaeological Heritage in a Modern Urban Landscape. The Ancient Moche in Trujillo, Peru" (100 pp. Springer, New York. ISBN 978-3-319-15469-5) and first editor of the book "Landscape, Identity and Memory. Recuay society (100-800 AD) and the North-Central Andes of Peru" (572 pp. Staatliche Museen zu Berlin and Sainsbury Research Unit, ISBN 978-1-3999-1656-1). He was Director of the School of Archaeology at UNASAM during the years 2023 and 2024.
