About FIUC

The International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU) is a global network that promotes reflection on the mission of Catholic universities, encourages academic cooperation and the exchange of experiences among its members. Through the dissemination of research, international representation of these institutions and joint work with other organizations, IFCU promotes higher education with a Catholic identity, focused on ethical reflection and in harmony with the principles of the United Nations.

Within this framework, IFCU has also promoted the formation of regional networks that articulate its member institutions in different continents, such as FUCE in Europe, ASUNICAM in Africa and Madagascar, ASEACCU in Asia, ODUCAL in Latin America, ACCU in North America and the Xavier Board of Higher Education in India.

In previous years, IFCU has organized outstanding international congresses that have addressed relevant topics from a Catholic perspective, highlighting the role of the Catholic Church in the search for solutions to contemporary challenges. Examples include the 2023 Congress in Croatia, entitled "Youth Mobility in the 21st Century," and the 2018 Congress held on the campus of the Pontifical Catholic University of PeruPUCP), entitled "The Role of the University in the Care of the Common Home," which promoted a profound reflection on respect for cultural diversity and ethical commitment to the environment.
